Pousada da Vigia

The Pousada da Vigia, situated in the extreme north of the Island of Florianópolis, got its name from the existing rocks, where fishermen, descendants of assorians, used to make alternate shifts – for over 250 years - to watch over and locate banks of fish. In 1988 was bought by the Julio Penna family for establishing their residence. Little by little, year after year, they started developing the old manor, known as the Governor's House, with its old days of glory, now brought back to full splendor. Given the exuberant beauty of the region, they came up with the idea of tranforming it into a lodge, so that more people could share and enjoy from that true earthly paradise. This explains the rather short number of suites, only ten, but with dazzling view to the sea, and where everything reminds you of a cozy home. In the vast living room, decorated just as a private residence, besides the comfortable furniture, you can also enjoy from an outstanding audio dolby stereos and a wide variety of shows and classical films in DVD. Side by side with this room as a very charming bistro with a heavenly view to the ocean, continent and surrounding islands, allows you to witness one of the greatest sunsets in the island of Florianópolis. VIP Tour Group recommends only staying in the 2 Luxury Suites, as the main rooms are too small for our clients taste. These two suites are equipped with safe box, hydro massage bathtub, home theater with a 29” flat screen and Dolby 5.1 sound, DVD, telephone, super king size bed, ceiling fan, air conditioner split, 14” TV, mini bar, microwave oven, hair dryer, high speed wireless internet, and a terrace with Jacuzzi, sauna, and scenic ocean view. Comfortable beds with pure-cotton sheets with English embroidery and fine plume pillows are meant to guarantee a well-deserved rest. The towels are large and smooth, in keeping with a distinctive quality and taste. The bathrooms are dressed in white, and have hardened glass shower-boxes, a strong hot shower and marble lavatories. The suites are suitable for a couple or two single people. Two children of up to 12 years of age may be also accommodated.
